Hack the Soil is a visionary anthology exploring humanity’s distant future through five immersive, art-driven narratives. Set nearly 200 years ahead, each chapter is told through the eyes of a unique narrator — from Binec-326, an AI who believes itself the next messiah, to Ephriom, a young descendant of Earth’s forgotten lineage, to Tarnac, the guardian of a new species on a reborn world. Together, their stories trace the evolution of civilization, identity, and the fragile thread connecting humanity to the planet it once called home.
Written, directed, and animated by Josh Ryba (Rybox), Hack the Soil represents what he believe is a truly authentic way of integrating AI into the animation process. "I create the designs, craft the drawings, and write the scripts — then use AI to help fill in the gaps according to my vision. The technology eases the workload, but the authorship remains entirely mine. The integrity of the piece stays intact, and every frame still feels fully my own."
